Spider stumbles in from the south, using Aile's chair as support, clearly insanely drunk.
Aile isn't quite as drunk as Spider - he won more of the telekinesis contests - but he's a little tipsy too.
Coraveda is notably absent.
Dingo, however, is tagging along behind Spider and barking all the way. 'Yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip!'
Aile says 'Why don't you go drop off that little barker with your girlfriend, Spider? It's a serious buzz-kill.'
Spider picks up the puppy. "Nah, man. Chicks dig dogs. Sensitive touch and all that."
Dingo stops yapping for just a moment as he attempts to lick some stray booze from a spill on Spider's shirt.
Aile sighs. 'I would think chicks dig -quiet- dogs. Ones that you can hear pickup lines over.' He pauses. 'Then again, considering our usual quality of pickup lines... maybe we better keep him around.'
Milo breaks into a giggle at Aile's last line, revealing that he had been listening in.
Spider laughs. "He's a boozehound! Get it? A dog? Likes booze? Boozehound?" He waits for someone to laugh.
Milo quite clearly STOPPED laughing when Spider spoke up.
Dingo yelps and tries to squirm out of Spider's arms, and away from the giggling stranger who startled him.
Aile sinks his face into his palm and shakes his head. 'See? Better to have YIP YIP YIP than a pun like that.'
Aile says 'Anyway. Reporting in, sir.'
Spider lets the puppy out of his arms. "Yo, sir." He gives a sloppy salute.
Dingo sits down behind Spider's feet and lets out a continuous, low growl as he peers at Milo from between Spider's legs.
Milo tries to look something resembling formal. "Anything to report besides your current bar tab?"
Spider grins even more. "I have a hot girlfriend again, sir!"
Aile rolls his eyes.
Milo says 'You're a robot. You're not supposed to date.'
Milo says 'That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.'
Spider says 'Yet I am, sir.'
Aile smirks and points to the dog. 'See? She follows him around -everywhere-. Isn't she a catch?'
Spider glares at Aile. "The dog belongs to the girl. Moron."
Aile giggles to himself.
Coraveda carefully and slowly makes her way into the square. Her wounded leg seems to have a slight limp, and her left arm has been put in a white ribbon-sling.
Coraveda says 'Oh good, my dog's still alive. I thought you two had taken him to the bar.'
Aile says 'Don't worry, he only drank what he could get off of Spider's armor. We didn't actually give him a doggie bowl full of tequila or anything... not that Spider didn't want to try.'
Milo turns his head. "...Coraveda?"
Spider pouts. "We wouldn't poison your dog, Cora! We just wanted him to discover the joy of alchohol."
Coraveda limps into sloppy rank next to Spider. 'Can I help you?'
Milo sighs. "I fail to see the difference."
"What happened?" A bit on the simple side, but Milo feels anything more would just be stating the obvious.
Motioning to her wounded arm and leg, Coraveda says 'After the last ... incident, on the full moon, I left Truce ...' She gazes off. 'I was looking for something powerful enough to break a curse.'
Coraveda shrugs. 'Instead, someone punched a hole in my arm and threw me in the river. Can't remember a thing! Isn't that ridiculous? People are so rude these days, just ambushing pretty young ladies and all.'
Milo scowls disapprovingly a little. "You're supposed to ask for leave before going off like that."
Spider speaks up now. "I found her in the Lete river, half-dead. We took her to Selan, but healing inflamed the wound. Eventually we cauterized it shut." He seems to be recovering from the alchohol.
Milo says 'Still, can't exactly say I'm going to punish you in your current condition. Sure you have no idea who or where it was?'
Coraveda says 'Hey, if I had asked for a leave, would it have gotten as much gossip as when I vanished overnight? No!'
Coraveda says 'Always. leave. them. wanting. more.'
Milo says 'Bah.'
Spider says 'So, that's our report, sir.'
Aile nods.
Aile says 'Yeah, we picked up a couple of strays, took 'em to the vet, and got them their shots.'
Milo says 'Okay. Points of interest: one, the army needs more discipline (and less drunks), and two, somebody dangerous is out attacking people.'
Spider shrugs. "I've been good... Just drunk.
Aile says 'If we ever got dispatched for something, we'd sober up.'
Milo says 'Well, if you don't remember anything, then there's not really much more to discuss.'
Coraveda says 'Who's attacking whonow?'
Milo says '...Umm? The person you said attacked you?'
Coraveda says '... Oh ... right. Well, I was up in some mountains. Who knows, personal vendetta maybe. Ex-boyfriends get pretty jealous.'
Spider raises an eyebrow at the last part of this statement, but doesn't comment.
Milo says 'Loftarasa range?'
Coraveda nods slowly. 'I'm... pretty sure ... the Lete River runs right through there.'
Milo says 'Don't you remember what direction you left in?'
Coraveda crosses her arms. 'My memory might be a little fuzzy, but I know where I was in the Loftarasa Range. Just ... not exactly where.'
Spider tilts his head. "Sir, would it make sense to send a small group to investigate the mountains?"
Milo shakes his head. "Not now. It's a very large area to be looking for one person, and we're already on alert for possible trouble at home, given the recent attacks."
Spider nods. "Alright."
Coraveda says 'If they were trying to kill me in the first place, they'll come back to finish me off.'
Coraveda shakes her head, swinging her braids around in the breeze.
Spider looks over at Coraveda. "Hey, Cora. Mind having a bodyguard?"
Aile says 'Which unit is she in, again?'
Dingo growls at Spider, sticking close to Cora's legs.
Milo says 'Well, I guess we'll just keep it in mind. Doubt he'll be able to do anything inside Truce unless he brings an army with him... which is not entirely out of the question.'
Smiling at the ground, and avoiding Spider's eyes, Coraveda says 'I don't want to put anybody else in danger. If he's not ... if he's an assassin ... he'll come back, and I'll have to leave again.'
Milo shuffles through his notes. "Says southern unit here. Obviously though, you're dismissed from duty until your wounds heal."
Spider looks concerned, but nods. "If I see him, I'll stop him."
Milo says 'Leaving on your own will do no-one any good. The Militia watches each other's backs... that's why we're here.'
Coraveda picks her head up. 'We'll see about that. Are we about done here? I'm starving and I think I smell steak cooking somewhere.'
Spider grins. "Go eat. I should pass out about now anyways."
Milo shrugs. "Go ahead."
Dingo dashes off ahead of Coraveda, leading the way to the smell of food. 'Yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip!'
As she walked, Coraveda turned to say over her shoulder '...I was about to invite you along Spider, but then...' She laughs bitterly to herself, then leaves.
Milo grins at Spider. An evil, predatory grin.
Spider looks concerned. "...Cora?"
Aile rolls his eyes and prepares for a night of drunken weeping: "She doesn't like me anymore! Waaaah!" The things he puts up with...
Spider leans against Aile's wheelchair. "...stupid girls, make no sense..."
Aile says 'There, there, buddy. Let's get you to the bar. Look at the time! It's pass-out-drunk-o'clock. Let's go.'
Milo says 'Isn't every hour pass-out-drunk-o'clock for you?'
Spider blinks at Aile. "I'm already drunk."
Aile says 'You're conscious, and mumbling about women. You're not drunk -enough-.'
Spider nods, leaning further against the chair. "...this thing is suprisingly steady... Although you're a drunk driver."
Milo waves the bumbling drunks off as they head back south.
Aile takes Spider to the bar, the bumbling drunks that they are.
