You see Cytol.
He is humanoid in shape, but his dark blue skin contrasts any human
appearance. Short silver hair extends from the top of his scalp, and silver
eyes stare forward. He is clothed in a simple brown shirt and pants, and a
white cloak around his back. Also strung on his back, a silver bow hangs
along side its quiver. Not willing to say much about it, he was trained as
a Priest by the esper Phoenix, before the gate opened. Since then Cytol has
shed his priest title, retaining only his knowledge of healing arts, and the
cloak he received upon the initial training. After leaving the order, he
chose to live alone in the wilderness of the sealed land, living by hunting
with his bow, and curing those who were wounded by the gate's opening. He
longs to be helpful, but because of Kefka's Empire, he has developed a
strange aversion to humans.

You see Link.
(Note: This is the Link to the Past canon character.)

At first glance, our Hero appeared to be just your average Hylian Knight.
His weapon of choice, a white-bladed longsword, didn't strike one as
particularly special, nor did his unadorned kite shield attract undue
attention. His mahogany hair seemed strange, and the slightly oversized
red boomerang at his side struck one as odd, yet seemed merely oddities.
And yet, there seemed to be something more to him. Something that
shouted to the world that -this- was no ordinary Knight.

Peaceful Fields of Guardia
A sizable pike hovers far above one's head directly south, while the
general sea of grass covers a rather-proportional area to the north, and
slightly northeast/east, as well. To the west and northwest, curiously
enough, a few farms have been set up, the gentle braying and peaceful clamor
of men and young boys at work all evidence to this fact.

Link, Hyrule's Champion is here.
Cytol the Bow-Mage is here.

Link is laid out on the grass, basically face down. His head is turned partly to
the side, so the grass is against his cheek.

Cytol watches from behind a clump of tall grass. What is this? Carefully
approaching, Cytol takes a closer look at the person
laying there.

Link slowly regains control of his mind again, habit forcing him to remain as he
was. After a few moments, he would slowly
open one eye. Green grass, blue sky...not bad so far. He would stir slightly.

Cytol takes an arrow out of the quiver on his back. A small murmur is made that
sounds like "Human?" He places the arrow on
the bow, and points it at the person's face.

Link's upside ear gave a brief twitch at sound of a bow being drawn -awfully-
close. He did a quick mental inventory check.
'Sword's still sheathed, shield on top. Boomerang? Best shot.' That decided, he
would slowly raise his head, neck craning
around to try to look at this weapon pointed at him.

Seeing the thing move, Cytol takes a step back, reflexly, and holds the bow
tighter. "What are you doing here Human?"

Link is a thing now. Joy! He would, -slowly-, continue rolling over till he was
on his back, head propped up to look
straight at the bow. "Well, ummm. While I'm not that sure what a 'human' is,
this Hylian is wondering what I'm doing
here too..." He put on as best a smile as he could conjure at that moment. Nice
and easy now, Link.

"You look like a human. Humans killed my friends." The stern look on Cytol's
face stays, and the bow still points to the
'Hylian's' face.

Link tensed slightly at that. True or not, twas obviously beside the point. Link
took an extra long moment to look Cytol
over in detail, a puzzled look slowly coming to the front. "...Uhhh, well. While
Hyrule -has- been in a few wars before,
I'm pretty sure that we've never fought....just what are you, if you don't mind
my asking?" Details first. Yes yes.

Link says '...Uhhh, well. While Hyrule -has- been in a few wars before, I'm
pretty sure that we've never fought....just
what are you, if you don't mind my asking?' Details first. Yes yes.

"Were you with Kefka when they opened the gate? I don't remember anyone like
you, but there were a lot of you on the Esper
raid." Cytol appears to slacken the bow slightly, but still doesn’t put it down.

Link blinks a few times, the puzzled look becoming more obvious as Cytol spoke.
"I'm pretty sure there's never been
anyone in Hyrule with the name of 'Kefka'. Couldn't swear to it, but no one with
any kind of rank was named that. Also,
what gate? And Espers? What's that?" Curious indeed. But he was also hoping his
questions would help stem the hostility.

Cytol says 'I'm talking about the SEALED GATE, the one you humans opened to
attack us.'

Link shook his head. "Okay, I'm pretty sure by now we're both thinking different
things. The only gate of -any- kind I
know of in Hyrule was a gate to the Dark World, and -we- were the one's 'under
attack', as it were. I think you've got my
race confused with someone else’s'" This was odd, to say the least.

Cytol "Confused? You look like a human... Are you not from the Empire? Cytol
relaxes his bow, but does not remove the arrow
from the string. "The only thing different about you are those strange ears"

Link just sits there for a moment. "No. I'm from the Kingdom of Hyrule. Last I
checked, we're not an Empire of any kind,
and we all look pretty close to what I do. Of course, some are shorter, taller,
etc."

Link says ' But still. I have no clue what the blazes you're talking about.
Never heard of a 'Kefka', or 'Empire'. Also,
if you don't mind, I'd like to be able to sit up without being feathered. You
mind?'

"Go ahead, but no funny business, this bow can still hurt." Cytol takes another
good look at the 'Hylian' in front of him.
"You say everyone looks like you? Nothing like you attacked us."

Link sat up with a brief sigh of relief. He moved his legs into the whole
crossed legged position before responding.

Link says 'Of course, when I said that, I meant in general. We do all have
similar ears, and general size, but I'm pretty
sure no one looks -exactly- like me. And again, I would like to ask who the hell
is -us-? Because I've never seen anything
quite like you before.'

Cytol says '-We- are Espers. My name, personally, is Cytol. None of us look that
similar, either, we all have our special
forms.'

You say 'Espers? No, I'm pretty sure no Hylian has ever run across one of your
kind before. ...And since you have no clue
about Hyrule, I assume the name Link doesn't mean anything either, hmm?'

Cytol says 'No it doesn’t. You don't know about Kefka... hmmm. Okay, I'll trust
you for now. I think. '

Cytol puts the bow on his back, and extends his hand to help Link up. "So, do
you know where this place is? I got here a
little while ago. I thought it was one of Kefka's traps.

Link accepts the hand with a grateful nod. He would automatically check his
sword, shield, boomerang...all's good. That's a
relief. He then shakes his head.

Link says 'Not a clue. Last thing I remember is I was...traveling through a pass
in the mountains. Suddenly everything
decided to collapse in on itself.'

You say 'Next thing I know, I wake up with a bow to the back of my head. But you
know that part.'

Cytol says 'Hmmm... Yeah, sorry 'bout that. It looks like you have a nice bump
on your head. Want some help with that,
I know some healing arts? Then maybe we can figure out where this is.'

Link gives the bump in question a quick touch before shaking his head. "It's
fine; I've had worse. As for starters, I'm
thinking..." Here he paused to look around a few moments before pointing to the
west.

You say 'That small village looks like a good place to start.'

Cytol nods in agreement. "I haven’t been that way, but I have seen activity in
that direction.

Link gave a slight grin, adjusting his equipment. "Well, a busy place is better
than a quiet one, yes?" He would then
trudge off towards Crysta, pausing now and then to make sure Cytol was following
him.

Cytol follows the strange Hylian, feeling awkward following someone who -looks-
human.
