Seikou wanders in quietly, staff resting on one shoulder.

Variance nods to Seikou briefly, mind obviously elsewhere...

Seikou nods back to Variance, his own eyes kind of glazed. He's currently cut in a few places, but the self-repair systems are quickly fixing the wounds.

Seikou sighs and settles on a bench, eyes still dull.

Seikou says '...Konnichiwa, Variance-sama.'

Variance squints as the sun invades his vision once again, grunting out a short reply in mild irritation. Well, at least he's not thinking about the discussion from before now...

Seikou sighs a little. "You had a bad day too, Variance-sama?"

You say 'You could say that.'

Seikou says 'What happened?'

Variance watches the fountain go about its business, mostly to keep from looking directly into the rising sun. "Patrol went a little rougher than usual, nothing horrible. Is it too bold to ask what happened with you?"

Seikou shakes his head. "Just had a conversation with some sort of dragon-thing, and now I'm doubting the fact I even exist. Also, I got semi beaten up, but that happens every day."

Variance shifts uncomfortably, suddenly looking a bit more distant. "Oh. Right." Perhaps it -was- too bold, but the subject was up again, and he wasn't in any condition to put it down.

Seikou shrugs. "I rather not discuss it again anyway."

Seikou sticks his staff point-first in the ground. "I should probably patrol, but I'm so tired..."

Variance smirks slightly, digging into the ground with his own weapon. "There's nothing wrong with getting rest between rounds."

Seikou gets up long enough to sip from the spring.

Variance reaches for one of his many canteens(water tends to be in short supply in most places), not really wishing to move more than necessary.

Seikou stands up slowly, armor clanking. "I should probably go back on patrol..."

Variance nods, almost moving to see Seikou off before something comes to him. "...I don't suppose you'd mind a little company? Not sure what I'd do for the mood, but I've found travelling alone to be a bit hard at times."

Seikou shrugs. "Sounds good..."

(Missing some stuff here from actually -starting- the log. x.x)

[Rocket Town - Center of Rocket Town]

Seikou looks at the ground "...Nani? There's something here..."

Variance hooks into something within the outline on the ground with his spear, pulling up...

Seikou says '...Wow.'

Seikou says 'Do we head in?'

Variance nods, starting to climb into the new passage. "You might want to watch yourself here, things tend to... get a 'jump' on you."

Seikou says '...Hmn?'

[Guardia - An Underground Entrance]

Seikou opens the door cautiously.

Variance motions for Seikou to go ahead, serving more as backup than a tour guide.

[Guardia - Underground Passage]

Seikou says '...Eeee...'

Seikou sloowly heads down.

[Magitek Factory: A Platform]

((Insert various fighty noises here.))

You say 'See what I mean?'

Seikou grins. "Indeed. First time that's happened to me here..."

Seikou says '...What's screaming...? It scares me...'

Seikou looks all around.

Variance narrows his gaze, looking towards the upcoming passage to the west. "I'm not sure you'll want to find out just yet."

Seikou nods and heads slowly west.

[Magitek Factory: A Catwalk]

((Again, fightage.))

<HP:1016/1016 MP:1507/1628>
Seikou is badly wounded.

Seikou says 'At least these things are easy to kill...'

You say 'Take it easy, we don't have to go so fast...'

"...This place... Is evil. i want to destroy everything in it, and soon." Seikou is, however, bleeding oil... or something.

[Magitek Factory: A Catwalk]

((There's a reason for all the fighting, honest! x.x))

<HP:1016/1016 MP:1439/1628>
Seikou looks pretty bad.

Seikou falls to his knees. "Agh..."

"Seikou!" Variance drops to one knee beside him, worry plain on his face. "I said we didn't have to go so fast!"

Seikou shakes his head. "I'm... fine..." His eyes are closed and he seems to be fighting something. "Go... I'll be out soon..."

Variance starts to stand, hesitating to leave him alone so quickly. "...Are you certain?"

Seikou nods. "Go!"

Variance nods and quickly heads back...

[Rocket Town - Center of Rocket Town]

Seikou climbs up the ladder slowly, head lowered such to hide his eyes in dramatic anime fashion.

Variance offers his hand to Seikou, though the other seems to be raising himself quite well on his own. "You'll be fine, I have a room at the inn here..."

Seikou slaps the hand away. "I do not need the assistance of a mere Hunter." The last word drips venom.

Variance stands for a moment, completely dumbfounded by the other Hunter's choice of words. Had he... missed something?

Seikou raises his eyes slowly, revealing them to be a hard, cold red. He grins a little. "I'm confusing you, aren't I?"

A small cloud of dust rises from Variance's bewildered step back. Those eyes, they're like... -his-. He says nothing, all attempts to find appropriate speech failing miserably.

Seikou smiles more. "That's good. Confused people are easier to kill." He lunges at Variance, staff ready to stabitize with.

Variance stiffens reflexively, side-stepping the lunge and hoping to nudge the offending, obviously troubled Seikou past him with the shaft of his spear.

Seikou is nudged a little bit out of his path by the spear and misses Variance, landing behind him. "Too scared to fight properly...?"

Variance quickly turns himself around, raising his polearm defensively. "I'm not going to fight you!"

Seikou sighs. "Tsk, tsk. What's the point of being a Maverick Hunter when you can't kill one Maverick?"

'Maverick...?!' All the signs were there -- sudden, unexplained aggression, obvious personality change... But Variance is still a little new to the whole 'Maverick thing', hence why he still hesitates.

You say 'You... you can -fight- it. You weren't Maverick before, and you can fight it off now!'

Seikou laughs a little, an evil little chuckle. "Seikou never -did- tell you the reason he came to this world, did he...?"

Variance straightens himself from his stance, the words taking his guard down. He -hadn't- told him... But what difference should that make?

Seikou grins again. "He's been a Maverick before, believe it or not! He just refuses to adimit it to anyone, including himself... Too bad it got you in this situation now, ne?"

Variance takes another step back, posture going defensive again. "You're still in there, Seikou, overcome it..." His words come softly, almost comforting, or at least as comforting as he could manage in this predicament.

Seikou glares at Variance. "Don't try to save me, Hunter. I don't want saving." He charges again.

Variance pushes off, throwing a good deal of his weight into the blunt end of his weapon as he thrusts it towards Seikou's midsection, planning to somehow pin the opposing reploid if the attack hits...

Seikou is pinned and now looks extremely annoyed. "...I will destroy you..." he mutters, stabbing upwards with the staff at Variance.

Variance moves his head out of the way of the staff, keeping Seikou secured under his own sidearm. "YOU might not want saving, but I'm not giving up on him! Not yet!"

Seikou says 'Seikou is dead! Gone!'

Variance narrows his amethyst gaze into a dangerous, convicted glare. "You have no right to speak of my conscience, -Maverick-." 'Forgive me...' He quickly pulls his spear to him, then swiftly swings the flat of its blade at the side of Seikou's head, a concussive move, nothing fatal.

((And we sort of assumed Vari dragged the unconscious Seikou somewhere where he couldn't inflict bloody death on the fragile flesh-people. >.>))
