Variance turns to look at the suddenly-opening door, the impact of recent events fleeting in favor of bewilderment. "Aura...?"
Aura backpedals somewhat quickly, almost tripping over her own feet in her haste to remove herself from any real proximity of the headquarters. "U-uh.. I was just, uhm.. walking.. I found it by accident. I'm really, really sorry.."
Aura says 'I'll leave, it's okay. I truly didn't mean to, uh.. find this place.. it was an accident!'
Variance shakes his head dismissively, managing a slightly amused smile in spite of the events of approximately an hour previous. "It's alright, civilians pass through here all the time."
You say 'Though I can't guarantee you'll find anythinng of interest.'
Aura fidgets uncomfortably, but tries to at least contain her overbearing nervousness, nodding minutely. "Well.. as long as I'm not, uhm.. breaking any laws, or anything.. I was just walking along, through the grass.."
Aura says 'I was talking to someone, and I suddenly found myself here.. I should really watch my step, I guess..'
"It's not a crime to get lost, although..." Variance's tone quiets just enough to be noticed, concern crossing his features for all of a moment, "You're probably better off going back to the fields."
Aura looks suddenly much less nervous, but a lot more worried, her eyes taking on a certain familiar width increase. "Is.. Seikou okay? He didn't get hurt, did he..?"
Variance diverts his gaze to the floor somewhere off to the side, trying to find safe words. Lying isn't a practice he's particularly fond of performing, but the tiny voice of several nights ago rings clearly, forcing him to keep up the veil of ignorance.
You say 'He's fine. He's just... resting.'
Aura looks between you and a few other unspecific spots within the lobby, not saying anything for a moment, and offers a small nod. "He told me to come visit, someday.. I suppose I never stopped to think that.."
Aura says '..the one time I'd accidentally stumble upon this place, he'd already be asleep. I'm awfully sorry if I've disturbed anyone for it being this time of night, Variance.'
Aura looks back towards you, an oddly-neutral expression replacing both the former fear and nervousness she had not-too-long ago.
"Sometimes circumstances simply don't coincide..." The statement comes strangely distant, but Variance quickly returns to the present, managing another, if half-hearted smirk.
You say 'But you aren't disturbing anyone, I can say that much. Sound doesn't really carry through two feet of concrete.'
A small flash of green light emanates from just behind Aura's head, and she nods in response to the previous comment. "Alright." She suddenly looks uncomfortable all over again, glancing sidelong at apparently nothing.
Aura says 'Well.. I think maybe I'll leave you to your business, then. I think.. er.. I should head back to the Sanctuary, anyway. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll see Seikou soon?'
If she were trying not to sound too hopeful, Aura failed miserably, as it comes out sounding way too obvious.
Variance nods absently, offering a complacent "Yeah, maybe," in place of a true reply. He looks even more distressed now, though this is only obvious for a few seconds before he excuses himself towards the door on the west side of the room.
Aura nods silently, looking just slightly upset as she turns, heading out into the fields to the south.
