Kinshou - The Landing
Jan 16 16:16:50 2003

Kinshou stood solemnly among the ruins of the once apparently great
city. The great wreckages rose about him, the grayish stone reaching
like jagged claws for the clear sky overhead. He looked out between the
limbs of trees; trees which threatened to swallow the masses of rotting
rubble.

Far out upon the calm waters of the infinite ocean bobbed an
uncountable number of large ships, sails unfurrowed. They came
toward him rapidly, making great haste and covering great space. They
were flat, but high, with sails that nearly dwarfed them.

Kinshou moved down through the trees, onto a small stretch of beach.
There, in a neat pile, were sticks and branches of various sizes. With a
careful, patterned wave of his hands, the kindling burst into a fire many
times larger than himself. With a large smile across his face, he looked
to the setting sun. Turning, he sat upon a large slab of stone half
buried in the dirt.

Kinshou stood as the first of the small boats touched the ground. A
number of people rose from their seats, stepping to the shore as he
neared. As one, they all snapped perfectly erect, saluting Kinshou
smartly.

. "Lord General, we are come."

Kinshou returned the salute, though much less formally.
. "It is good, Corporal. We shall make camp within the city."
With a quick gesture, Kinshou turned. Behind him, the Corporal and
his men followed as even more boats reached shore. The small stretch
was soon crowded by disembarking Soldiers, their purple armor glowing
by the light of the bonfire.
