Bevani - The Sanctuary

The Blue One sighed, and continued examining the temple he'd been directed to.
It seemed like a regulation temple, what he'd seen of them on his travels,
except with the massive black crystal jutting out of the floor. It was odd in
appearance, seemingly draining the room of light, and Bevani could sense great
magical power inside it. Maybe this was what he was after?
He thought back to his conversation at the town square with some of the locals.
He'd made a fool of himself laughing at the vision of home he'd got while
meditating, and missed the opportunity to examine the inhabitants here
unhindered by a reputation. But still, he'd had a chance to view at least some
of the adventurers calling this place home.
Robots like Rathe.. no, Reploids, he corrected himself, that's their proper
name.. seemed quite common here. Odd, considering how rare they were across
the multiverse. There must be something about this place that draws them here.
Surely artificial life such as they would not be attracted to a plane of
pretty much purely magical energy.. unless they were designed with that in
mind in the first place, or through some fluke had an undocumented natural
magical affinity. That might explain Rathe's blossoming powers.
There was that one.. Variance, the other present had referred to him as.. who
had spoken to "himself", but as he had, Bevani had sensed some other power
nearby. Natural, by the taste of it, but not coming from the Reploid himself.
Odd, it had also felt similar to that massive fluctuation of power that had
drawn him to this world in the first place.
There was something tricky afoot in this place, that much was certain.
Now just to work out if it could be used to his advantage.
